Saturday Snapshot August 25: Fifth Blogiversary

Five years ago in this last week of August I started Ripple Effects on WordPress. I still remember that first prompting from my son that I should start a blog.

“What’s that?” I asked.

I just can’t capture all that have come along since then.

To all of you who have visited, subscribed, followed, read, commented, and shown your support and encouragement in ways you might not have realized, I thank you all.

Here’s a cup of latte to celebrate and a teaser: How do you drink the latte without disturbing the beautiful foam art on top?

Well, it was pure serendipity that I managed to do just that. This is the photo during that occasion. I only have the ‘Before’ but not thought of taking an ‘After’ shot. But trust me, it wasn’t a mirage when I got near to the bottom of the cup.

What did I do? I was chatting away with a friend for maybe 10 minutes before I started sipping it slowly. By that time the top foam had been cooled down a bit and slightly ‘dried’. Disclaimer: I haven’t tested it again, but I will. Just to see if it really wasn’t a mirage that I saw.

    I have been reading this blog for quite a while – one of the ones I have stayed with the longest over the years and one of the few I always read through. My fifth this year as well. Keep it up!

  5. I hear you, my kids helped me set up my blog too. I think they like that I’m occupied and not bugging them to clean their rooms. Love your coffee pic. Congratulations.

  25. Well, here I am – the one who always drags in late! Congratulations on your five years, Arti. No matter how long we blog, I’ll always be a few months behind you, but there’s no one I’d rather tag along alfter!

    You’ve had a rich mixture of lit, art, architecture and film here, wonderful jumping-off places for the most interesting discussions. I’m looking forward to years more of it all – and perhaps some surprises, too. Who knows? In five years, you may be producing a film and I may have published a book. Five years is a long time!

      You’re right, five years is a long time. These past five you’ve certainly come to know my mind…. in the next five years, I’ll have my screenplay produced, and you a book published, all doable. Then I’ll be happy to say “Oh, I know the author of that book, we’ve been blogging friends for ages.” And you, you can always help promote my film on your blog. 😉 Keep the ripples coming…
