Vancouver Journal

Arti is blogging from Vancouver these two weeks. Here are some initial sights from yesterday’s roaming.

Despite the temperamental weather, Arti will be soaking in all the views, making best use of her solitary moments to peck away … oh, who cares whether it’s for work or play. The woodpecker knows there’s no boundary separating the two.

  3. Ellen: Love to see your Rhoddies too… I’ve just learned that it’s the Washington State flower. Looking forward to seeing your pics.

ds: It’s beautiful here but I must say the allergies are the main drawbacks.

Shari: Van is almost like second home to me, although I’m still not used to the rain, and now, pollen season.

MM: Thanks and yes, I’ll definitely post some more. I’ve enjoyed all the sm… great place to get away.

  4. The skyline is beautiful. When I was in Berkeley I loved going to the top of the Marin hills and watching San Francisco at night, especially if there was fog coming in through (over, under) the bridge. I always felt the same way in NYC in winter, when the snow would come, and everything would quiet and the lights would glimmer and gleam.

Now, I get to look at the lights of refineries at night – not very romantic, but they keep the economy perking which keeps my customers perking which keeps me in a position to daydream about someday going to visit a beautiful city again!

    1. I was visiting SF last spring and Berkeley was beautiful, and NYC is one of my favorite cities. I’m sure the Texas coast too has its own beauty. Now that’s one place I haven’t been to. It’s telling that wherever we are, we’re always yearning for that ‘Beautiful City’, isn’t it.
