Oh little light… whispering hope

Two of my favourite songs, one for the Season, one for always. May your Christmas be a little light that shineth and a spark of hope.

Oh little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

Whispering hope
Oh, how welcome Thy voice
Making my heart
In its sorrow rejoice

Merry Christmas!

  1. “Whispering Hope” was one of my mother’s favorites; she often sang it while working in the kitchen. I haven’t heard it in some time, so thanks for reminding me, Arti. It is a song for all seasons, just as our carols and hymns make Christmas even more special. Merry Christmas to you, and best wishes for the New Year to you and yours!

    1. Greetings from the Big T! Yes, all the best hymns, tested and true, through all ages, and for all times, not just the Christmas Season. BTW, this is a little decoration in the house here, and can you see the shadow of the cross there?

  2. Merry Christmas 🎄 Arti!
And thank you for the lovely words in which you grace the pages of your blog each week for us to read. It’s a blessing.
One day, I feel there is a book in you waiting to be born.
